Sarah Labowitz is a policy expert and documentary film producer. She’s spent her career working to expand civil liberties and human rights from within federal and local government, as a researcher and lecturer at a business school, and at the ACLU of Texas as the statewide policy & advocacy director. Her first documentary film, TEXAS, USA, was released in fall 2023. In April 2023, she joined the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace as a nonresident scholar in their Sustainability, Climate, and Geopolitics Program. She’s tackled issues ranging from labor rights in the global supply chain, to racial wealth disparities in disaster recovery, to human rights and national security in the aftermath of the Arab Spring, to voting rights in Texas. She lives in Houston.
